Really loved this garbage can. The size is perfect and the motion sensor works both by waving your hand and by tapping it with your foot. However the sensor did stop working after a few months even after changing the batteries multiple times. Great product but did not last long.

I’ve had this for about a month and have nothing to complain about! Does it’s job, I like that I don’t have to worry about awkwardly moving my foot to open up the trash. This trashcan opens up really fast so you won’t be holding stuff on your hands. I took off a star because as you can see from the picture, it has a lot of space that you cannot use because the cover is chunky and takes up all the space. So it’s really taking up a lot of space that you could use for trash.

I am satisfied with the quality of the material with which it is built, its size is perfect for any type of bathroom, (large, small or medium), the capacity of garbage that it keeps is enough, you easily change and put the bags… time that remains open is sufficient, not like other garbage cans that close quickly as soon as they are opened.

I bought this to use in my bathroom both for cleanliness and to make sure my dogs couldn’t access the trash. It’s small as expected but that hasn’t been a big deal. The opening it smaller than I’d like, but after looking at all if my options it seems that is standard with small automatic trash cans. My biggest issue is the sensor isn’t very fast and requires getting too close to it for it to open. If I’m at the sink I have to bend down and hold my hand right over it for a couple seconds before it opens. And if you’re still using it, it tries to close anyway rather than sensing a hand is still there. It’s good enough to keep, but if I had to buy one again I might look at other options.

Product is great, looks nice and I am definitely considering another. However, it’s a tad bit too sensitive. When a short person walks nearby in the small restroom it’s in, it opens. That’s fine, but it’s not slow close. So the smells could be puffed up into the air.

Chose this 3.5 gallon can for the bedroom after finding my blood pressure medicine in the trash : ) I keep this can near the nightstand for easy reach, and no longer worry about something important falling in. Opens and closes with ease, holds plenty for bedroom use. Can go two weeks before changing bag. Has wide ribbed sides and a smooth lid, all plastic, so it’s easy to clean. Oval design is sleek, yet has a wide opening, so I never miss a shot. Have an adjustable bed, and I’m fairly short, and find the sensor to be powerful. Put my hand directly over the sensor, 5-6 inches away and it opens like a charm everytime. Batteries last quite a while. ELPHECO offers replacement drawstring bags at a reasonable price. A trial pack comes with the can; they work well for me. The trash can is a bit pricey, but I’m hoping the motor is built to last. Happy with purchase.

Sleek design and easy to operate. Auto lid open/close is quieter that I expected. Liked that it came with trash bags. I wish the bag holder wasn’t so far down from the top of the basin as this reduces the can’s capacity.

After getting a motion sensor trash can for the kitchen and falling in love with the hand’s free, we bought two for our bath – one for trash, one for recyclables. They look great. The inner gray plastic ring holds the plastic liner bag firmly. But be careful you don’t toss out the gray ring with the bag! It’s so easy to do, especially with plastic recyclables (yup, I speak from experience here…).

This product does exactly what it advertises the motion detection is pretty great you don’t have to wait too long for it to open and it hold a good bit of garbage. The space in my bathroom is pretty tight so I’m happy this fit in perfectly, the only thing I can say is that it detects any kind of motion so if the toilet seat stays up and the garbage can is close to the toilet it’s detecting that as motion and it stays open until you put it down. Kind of annoying but I’m sure it’s just cause I have such a small space in my bathroom, if you keep it a little farther from the toilet I don’t think you’d have that issue.

Particularly valuable when your hands are full. You don’t need to hold onto or touch anything on this garbage can, either to open it or close it. But you do need to leave this product in an open space. It responds quickly to anything that moves. Thankfully it is well made, stable, attractive, big enough for our needs and takes up little space. We’re delighted.

Needed this for a small space where a foot operated one would not work. Have had it about a month with no issues. The lid opens when you want it to and closes gently. The dogs leave it alone and my trash stays put. Only thing to consider is that if something static is in front of the eye it will stay open. So you can’t face it towards a wall or hang anything in front of it.

Just what I needed since California has decided we can’t put ANYTHING organic in our garbage can. So, I’m peeling an onion or garlic, trimming an artichoke, etc . . . can’t go down disposal, & now can’t go in the garbage either. You can’t even put a paper plate in your garbage if it has say drips from a PB&J sandwich, ugh.This bin works perfectly. It doesn’t take up to much room, and the opening is shaped well to accept soiled paper products. I have mine on my kitchen step stool to raise it up a bit. I have a stool because I’m 5′ tall, lol. It truly doesn’t let odors escape, & the motion sensor works perfectly.I made an organic sticker for the top, so guests know what it is. As if my complaining wouldn’t tip them off :)I really like it, no matter how annoyed I am that I have to use it.
